First AR...DI or piston?

Hello all,

Looking for my first AR…I don’t plan to upgrade much so I may look into purchasing complete. I am for a top tier rifle for HD, range, and maybe hunting down the road. Piston wise, I have my mind set on a Robinson Arms XCR, I like the simplicity, built from the ground up, AK style long stroke piston and caliber changeability. For a DI rifle, I am liking the LMT CBR16, I like the reputation, the years of testing, Di to piston changeability, and caliber change also.

What’s your opinion? I have about $1500 to spend. Another thing, should I worry about warranties?

ARs don’t want to be piston guns.

there are a thousand answer in fewer key strokes than it takes to type your question

The general consensus will be towards the DI. If you search around on the site I’m confident you’ll find all the information and more that you need.

LMT makes a great rifle, along with noveske, daniel defense, BCM, and a few others.
Can’t go wrong with any of the above IMHO.

Please take the time to read the various threads and stickies. There’s alot of information that has already beeen put out there.
