Hey guys, This is my first post. After doing a ton of reading here I finally ordered my first AR tonight. I ended up going with the Colt 6920 MOE. Can’t wait for it to arrive! Btw thanks for all of the great information I was able to gather here! It helped lead me to what I believe is the right gun for me.

Congrats on picking a great carbine on the first go round. I also spent a lot of time on this site before making my first AR purchase. And Im still here so I guess thats a testament on the good advice in this forum. Before you know it you will have a room full of AR’s, parts and ammo and an empty wallet, enjoy

Well originally I was going to order it from CTD, however, the more I read on here and other forums I noticed the name Grant popping up a lot. I decided to check his webpage out and emailed him a few questions. He really impressed me by how quickly he answered my email even after business hours so needless to say I ordered from G & R Tactical.

Being an LE Colt armorer I have to ask… Did you find one with LE roll stamps or the new sporter. Makes no real difference… Same weapon. I too have a 6920LE… Recently finished all my miss… Certainly didn’t need them. But you now own the Gold Standard in AR’s. Everything is compared to Colt!

Research always pays off in the end, I’d say you are now reaping the benefits. Glad you got a Colt, you will never be sorry. Ammo, mags, shoot, repeat.

First time AR buyers are lucky today. Lots of info here as long as they are willing to listen to good advice. I wish I had these resources back in 2000 when I got my first AR. Back then, there were far less quality choices, so I went with a Bushmaster after listening to some people rave about them (ie. “they’re as good as Colts, and cost a bit less!”).
Luckily, I was able to sell off my BM, and started over the right way, with a DD M4

I am not sure which roll mark it has. Isn’t a big issue to me.
Bought the same thing a couple weeks back, got mine at G&R also…
Can any of you suggest what grain ammo I should be using in this thing? I am a complete newbie to ar15’s. Is there any adv/dis adv to 5.56 vs 223?
