As always the permit process in NJ stinks, as I had been waiting 2 months. But the elapsed time does make for a much more anticipated and appreciated pick-up.
Having larger hands this is one of the most comfortable pistols I have held next to the Hi-Power. Like it more than the 92 in that regard.
Haven’t shot it yet, so if anyone at Beretta is watching and wants to send me 2,000 rounds I am ready to see if the new frame recoil buffer and captive recoil spring assembly are as effective as stated.
Have to get me before my first trip to the range, so better hurry…
Congrats. My carry gun is a standard 92FS with night sights. I previously won a 9mm version of the 90-Two, and I have fired a few of them.
I like the gun, and it works very well. I always wished that they would release a rubber slip on grip for the 90-Two. I like the rubber Hogue grip panels on the standard 92FS, and I always found that polymer front strap on the 90-Two to be a little slippery. If not for this issue, I’d probably be carrying a 90-Two instead of a 92FS.
While I can see your point, I also find the checkered grip to be quite solid in fact. The new M9A1 has them as well, so I would imagine they are considered an upgrade.
Got to hold a 92 of my father’s today that I have fired many times before, and I still prefer the 90-Two grip style. A bit smoother, but also more comfortable in my hand.
While mine is a .40, I can now surely relate. Not much so far, but I took it up to Ft. Dix to try out today and put 210 rounds of 165gr Winchester through it without issue.
Was extremely comfortable to shoot, did not find the recoil to be increased due to the lighter weight at all. Heard the trigger might be stiff, but mine was just fine. Very solid weapon as well, extremely so in fact.
Shot a 3.5 inch group at 25 yards on one of those days when about 25% of everyone’s targets blow over just before the ceasefire ends, so I am content there.
Really pleased with this choice so far, no doubt about it.
Even though I am a .45 guy. I am the most accurate with my 90-two. I love the way it handles and shoots. It serves as my bedside gun, and as my only 9mm carry gun. I actually got it as a valentines gift from my wife ( fiance at the time :D).
The 90-Two [.40] was the first firearm I ever got… in NJ as well. Had to order it though… all they had was 92FS’s at Ray’s at the time.
I had fired my friend’s 96 [.40] here in NJ and a 92 [9mm] in a range in Indy while there for an F1 race. I like them both which is why I chose the 90-Two as my first firearm.
Still love it! Though I find I am more accurate with my Mom’s HK UPSc 9mm :mad:
Should be getting close to 1000 rounds through it now since I got it in June of '08
Thank you buddy. So far I am more than sold on mine, not a negative aspect to report thus far. I have fired many a different handgun in my day and this one is surely a keeper.
