Have a TA-33-9, using a TA-60 base currently on my DSA FAL with DSA Mount and while it works (I currently use a cheek pad) the height/offset is a lot more than I’d like. I wanted to know what the best options were for lowering it as much as possible?
In doing a little research it was recommended to try a TA-51 standard mount, but I wanted to be sure since the TA-33 is built on a compact ACOG body. Is the hassle worth it for lowering it 1/4"-1/2"? I’m sure I’d get a better cheek-weld. I also see a significant difference in height between the TA-60 and TA-51 and I’m essentially wondering if there is a catch?
Alternatively an ARMS #19 might work, but I wasn’t sure if there was maybe a better alternative? My only concern is that most alternatives are meant for a straight-stock M4. As you might know the FAL is not a straight line design, so you’re actually down a bit behind the receiver.
