Factory KAC 14.5" MOD1 Dimple Barrel - Problems

Hello,

I took my factory kac 14.5 to the range for the first time today and I experienced a strange issue. During fire without my SF 212 can the brass ejected very weak, maybe a couple of feet. From what I can tell between the 2 and 3 o’clock position. The strange part was when the can was attached I would get FTE’s - even less gas. Which you would think is the opposite with a can attached…

Ammo used: Federal XM193 Ball 5.56…All tests

Things I did to test:

-KAC HH Buffer W/Blue Enhanced Spring…Problem

  • KAC HH Buffer W/White spring…Same problem

-Swapped my spring to standard white and went from an hh to h…Same problem.

-Kept the standard spring and went with a non h…Same problem.

-Put a new KAC bcg in…Same problem.

-Put a new lower on…Same problem.

Conclusion…The gas port is too small.

What are your thoughts?

Isn’t It meant to run with a carbine buffer and milspec spring?

Hey there, thank you for the response. I edited my post. I forgot a few steps I took. I am pretty sure what you are saying is addressed in my edit. If not let me know. Thx
