Extractor Pin

Usually just use the search button for questions but I have not had any luck with this one. I stripped my M&P 15 tonight to cleaning it after zeroing the sights earlier today. Everything was going fine until I tried to put the extractor back in. I cannot get the pin to go all the way through. It came out relatively easy but now goes about 3/4’s in and thats it. Any suggestions?

You might need to squish in the extractor some more to align the holes. Use a padded pair of pliers.

Thanks fellow Texan. That did the trick. Should have thought of it myself. Am I going to have to do this every time?

Yes, and thats a good thing. On carbines, and especially SBR’s you need a strong extractor for positive extraction in the (more) violent world carbines and SBR’s live in.
