I received two emails last night regarding some beta testing for a new M4C software platform about to be launched. I highly suspect this is a fraud attempt. Anybody else get these emails?
Might want to redact your email address.
Actually does look legit. Or it’s hyper elaborate phishing to steal your M4C login info, which seems doubtful given how complete the website looks.
Given what I’ve seen, seems legit so far… except that somebody made ME an admin, a lapse of judgement I would never expect from this team.
Done. Thanks for the call out.
I received the same thing.
I received the same thing, and there was mention of being a moderator.
I though it smelled phishy so deleted both emails.
I sent a text to a mod here to inquire.
Got one today.
I got one a few days back. I deleted it because it looked phishy. I’ve meant to ask someone but lots going on lately.
Some of us moderators got it as well, we got one a few months ago.
Some of us also thought these emails didn’t look legit and we dismissed it. Some were brave enough to click it but couldn’t get very far.
We were told by the “new” owners that they’re running a beta test site and to expect it. Even with that notice, the email looked fishy. We thought the beta test was for the moderators only. But since some non mod members received the invitation, either it’s a glitch or the new owners don’t know who’s the moderators and who’s not. They’re just randomly emailing members.
We are frustrated.
I’ve gotten a couple of those emails as well. Thought they were odd.
Could just be they’re randomly inviting users to Beta, but what I find hinky there is most beta invites also ask for feedback and this was more “congrats, you’re in, have fun playing in the sandbox kiddo.”
I’ve received the same emails, 1 to my personal email and one to my DOD email (which I’ve never used on any forum site).
