I am going on a cruise this summer and I’m gonna feel naked without my gun, looking for ideas for other things to carry to defend myself with. I know for sure I’m taking a knife, per carnival it has to be one with a blade less than 4 inches. Just looking for ideas. Thanks guys!
Depending on what cruise line you’re going with, you go through a metal detector when boarding. One like you would see at the airport. For me, I carried a pocket knife. I left it in my luggage when boarding. Then once in your room, you can EDC it.
I’d get a Spyderco Salt in yellow and tell them it’s for while you are snorkeling.
Friends testing the waters on cruise ships found it easy to carry the usual less-conspicuous and expedient items. While packing luggage and day bags, pack any potentially interesting items with less interesting items they may have association with to prompt overlooking.
I’m also going on a cruise this August, I think I’ll just carry my spyderco, I don’t really see the need for anything longer than 4 inches for a cruise… In port I would like to have my 45 but I don’t see that happening
Flashlight. Maybe one with a strike bezel.
Flashlight on left side and a folder on the right.
I cruised on Disney about 10 years ago and they balked at my little Gerber folder in my pocket when boarding. I had to leave with security till we came back. Of course I had a knife in my checked baggage, but I kept it low profile while carrying.
I guess all those steak knifes on board are harmless:rolleyes:

Me too. I also kept an all steel pen clipped in my pocket for a less-bad-looking weapon in foreign ports of call.
Dennis.
