Right from a bad Bond movie, the major AI weapons development company is owned by a billionaire kid who was fired by FB. Full autonomous jet fighters, submarines, etc, are a reality now and an arms race is way more mature than most realize.
Anduril has some really cool stuff and its just like any arms race - everyone will have them at some point. Hopefully ours are better and we get them first. Palmer is well spoken in his corner, especially considering an allied pilot recently shot down three of our aircraft in the same day.
IMHO we are seeing the next 30-50 years of warfare play out right in front of our eyes in the Middle East. The war in Ukraine got the ball rolling (although we ourselves have used drones for years, it wasn’t a mainstay weapon) and now weapons and tactics are being tweaked in real-time by all sides in the conflict.
