Do pre-94 30 rounders still have any value to anyone?

I was cleaning out my gun-room and pitching some stuff out, found a box old G.I. mags I forgot I had. Going threw the box I found a few pre-94 30 rounders from Kay Industries, Adventure Line, Sanchez etc.

All of the magazines have moderate finish wear from being inserted and removed from magazine carriers but little to know magazine release tab wear, makes me think they never really got used much.

No cracked or beaten feed lips on any of them either.

I’ve gone all Magpul PMag so I was just going to sell them locally as old magazines but a friend seemed to think they might have some value to someone living in a state where you can’t newer get post 94 magazines.

Thoughts? Value? Thanks!

Lots of people want them because that’s all they can use. They seem to go for 8-10 dollars each.

I’d sell all my pre-94 magazines to anyone who would replace them with new ones (GI or PMag). That seems fair to me, because they CAN’T get new magazines, and if they could, they’d pay what we pay for them.

Iv never seen that price anywhere. Locally around $40 and online seem to be 15/20 somewhat regularly.

I was sorta thinking the same thing. If I added a few more PMag’s to my collection, I wouldn’t complain. I’d feel like I was gouging if I charged $40 a piece for them though! :stuck_out_tongue:

I forgot to ask. Is there any reason I couldn’t ship them to another state that has a ban?

You can if you disassemble them, as parts kits. In Ca, anything before 2000 is good. I’d be interested in them. Let me know. Albie

Anything before 2000? Not just 94? First time I’ve heard that.

The E and E has them for that price pretty regularly (10.00). I tried to sale 12 or 14 for $125.00 shipped here and never did sale them.

Careful with the legal advice here! :stop: California banned the sale and importation of all 10+ round mags back then. You cannot import, manufacture, purchase, etc. any mags of more than 10 rounds period.

You may possess hi-caps that you had before then, but you can’t obtain new ones no matter when they were made. You can own any parts kits you want. The date they were made has no bearing.

Pre-ban mags are a North-eastern issue, not a California issue.

ETA: Here is California Penal Code, Section 32310 commencing January 1, 2000, any
person in this state who manufactures or causes to be manufactured,
imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for
sale, or who gives, or lends, any large-capacity magazine is
punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year or
in the state prison.

Calguns.net is the place to go to get all the specifics.

Getting back to the original post. Yes, pre ban mags are still of value to me and many others here in NY

yes, they are very valuable in NY and MA where the AWB is still alive and kicking. People are willing to pay $15/mag for face to face or online sales. Maybe $20 if they were date coded new old stock. Local gun stores have them in stock, but they cost $30+.

Hmmm,I must of missed that one !!! I am a NYer and buy good mags when the price is right !!! I have a decent number, but always looking for more, but on the same note,I refuse to pay crazy prices for them,New or other wise !!! I know we need to do this in the EE,but if any of you guys have some good ones ya want to get rid of,drop me a PM !!!

Here’s some advice. Read. This is almost exactly like the thread that was posted the other day and many times before. If you have “preban” magazines, they are only worth what someone is willing to pay.
