Disappointed in BCM

Hello all,

I wanted to get everyone’s advice. I placed an order with BCM for a few lower part items ($150) dollar order. USPS indicated they delivered the package on 8/27 but I never got the package (as confirmed by my security cameras, and happy to provide footage to anyone). I contacted the post office and they had no clue, as expected. I sent BCM an email and they indicated they filed a claim with USPS and they will let me know when they hear anything. So essentially I take that to mean I won’t have what I paid for for at least 3 weeks…or I am out 150 bucks by having to re-order or try to find items locally.

I guess what really makes me upset is that I have spent thousands of dollars at BCM over the past few years and I am a very active customer, and always recommend them to friends as they are very fast shippers and have great products. I feel they should be able to replace my order and send me replacements immediately and not have to wait the 2-3 weeks for USPS to “investigate”. When I had a small business on eBay, if a long term customer had a lost package I would immediately replace it or offer a refund, and I would wait for the claim reimbursement or take the loss. Am I unreasonable to expect the same from BCM?

What should I do next? Try to initiate a charge back with my CC company?..or re-order and be out 150 bucks… I just feel cheated, I paid for something that I do not have. I feel BCM should be able to replace my order immediately and not make me wait for a USPS claim, especially considering I have given them thousands of dollars in business over the past few years.

Appreciate any advice.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised how quickly and respectfully BCM takes care of your issue. Be patient.

I have always had awesome customer service from them in the past and will try to be patient. Just frustrating if I have to wait 2-3 weeks for the USPS claim or investigation. Thanks for the response.

“I guess what really makes me upset is that I have spent thousands of dollars at BCM over the past few years and I am a very active customer”

I’m sure your frustrated but this is silly. They treat all thier customers the same. I buy a ton of groceries every week. That doesn’t entitle me to special treatment at Target.

I’m sure they will get it solved for you as fast and as professional as possiable. Shit happens. I see no reason to be disappointed in them for not imediatly sending you more stuff. I’m sure they have people trying to scam them time to time. If this is your first bad experience with them chalk it up to chance.

I don’t see how this is BCMs fault. I have no doubt they’ll take care of it. Starting a thread complaining about them when it’s USPS screw up lame.

It should be obvious from my order history I am not attempting to scam them, especially for such a low priced order. I guess that is why I don’t see why I have to wait whoever knows how long for USPS to “investigate”…When I ran a small business I would always immediately re-ship, especially for long term high spending customers who never had an issue previously.

I have always had great service from BCM in the past, hope they don’t make me wait 3 weeks for USPS to screw around.

Agree, I am very upset with USPS…but is it right to make me wait the 2-3 weeks for USPS to investigate when I paid for good I did not receive? I know it sounds like I am complaining, but how long should I wait?

I’d quit whining and give it a bit of time. In many cases the post office finds it at a nearby hub or even the destination office and they complete the delivery. That’s the fastest possible resolution at this point.

If you’ve been a faithful customer and BCM has always done their part for you, why can’t you afford them a few days to let USPS try to fix their own screw up instead of holding BCMs feet to the fire and whining about it on a forum?

The time to make a post is if BCM does nothing if the USPS can’t find it. Not that I think that’s even a remote possibility.

Hopefully when you calm down, you’ll realize how silly you sound right now. It’s Sunday.

It’s not BCM’s fault if the U.S. Postal Service reports the package was delivered.

I am willing to bet it was delivered to the wrong address, as it says “delivered.” That will probably make USPS even decline the claim as they will just say it “shows as delivered, etc” Then ultimately BCM is going to be out and so will I. Gotta love how efficient USPS is. I just feel I am not the one who should have to wait for re-reimbursement, I paid for something that I don’t have…just frustrated is all, appreciate your advice and listening to me vent.

But for long term customers who never had an issue, why can’t they send me replacements and they wait for the USPS claim to be paid, etc? Guess I have unreasonable expectations…I just feel I am out the money I spend and have nothing to show for it. Rant over

I did have UPS deliver a headlamp I was returning under a prepaid label to the random woman in Idaho. She was really cool about it and called me saying she had this very nice looking light and didn’t know why.

Long story short, neither UPS or the retailer took responsability for it. The woman drove over an hour to bring it somewhere to return it for me.

Sometimes there’s just nothing you can do but wait it out.

You are not a special snow flake.

Great to know there are honest people out there. I live in a not a very good area, If it was indeed delivered to a wrong address, I am sure it will never show up again.

You’re not your f-ing khakis.

Respectfully, then maybe I should not consider BCM special and move my considerable spending elsewhere. When I ran a small business years ago, I would not hesitate to resend a package for a long term customer, even if it resulted in a loss or if I had to wait for a USPS claim. I would never lose a long term customer over a 150 dollar package. I mean no disrespect, just fell a business should always give loyal customers the benefit of the doubt over risk losing their business.

If you’re threatening to stop doing business with a company because the shipping courier screwed up and you’re too impatient to wait until the case is resolved with them, I doubt you’ll be missed. It’s been, what, 3 days?

Waiting for a shipping company to resolve a missing or damaged package claim before you can expect a replacement is SOP pretty much everywhere.

Not trying to argue, but should the customer have to wait 2-3 weeks for the USPS to investigate a package? Maybe I am pessimistic, but I think we all know the priority they will put on one package that says it was “delivered.” Companies such as Amazon immediately send a replacement, and they deal with the postal company / claims. I know that Amazon is a bigger company, but I should not have to deal with the USPS, it is ultimately up to the sender to correct.

BCM could have let you deal with the USPS. They have proof it was delivered. They could just wash their hands of the whole matter. The very fact they are working to help you says a lot about BCM to me. BCM has done right by you, me, and pretty much everyone here in the past. You have to at least give them a chance to try and fix this. The problem and the blame are with the USPS. If this really is such a small order to you, then you should relax, take a deep breath, and be glad it isn’t one of your big orders.
