Determining sheepsfoot vs. Wharnecliffe

How is a Sheepsfoot pattern determined vs a Wharnecliffe?

I always assumed a sheepsfoot edge was mostly a straight edge with a slight curve up to the tip based on the Uncle Henry I have owned for about 40 years which matches how Benchmade and Leatherman do it.

I recently picked up a Boker stockman and Case congress where the sheepsfoot edge is as dead straight as the Wharnecliffe on the Case Seahorse Whittler.

So how is the difference determined?

Best picture to show difference. Sheepsfoot more pronounced rounding into blunt tip, Wharncliffe gradual rounding into a point. Sometimes it’s pretty close to make a perfect call.

Another good pic of most blade shapes.
