I have two rifles with DD Omegas. One of them, the handguard cap is a little loose. I know this does not affect the Omega at all - but I don’t like loose parts.
What can I do about it, or is it being slightly loose “normal”?
Thanks.

The omega loosened up mine as well. It doesn’t affect function at all.
fixed FSB? only thing i can imagine doing is removing the fsb, placing a shim between the HG cap and the FSB and re installing the pins.
The loose cap means you’re free floating. I think a shim would apply pressure and take away from that effect.
is there a problem with just cutting the cap off?
The Omega shouldn’t touch the handguard cap at all. The removal of the standard handguards may have taken some tension off the cap allowing some loose movement, but a loose handguard cap has nothing to do with it free floating really. You can take the cap off, and it won’t affect anything. I didn’t like the visible gap it left, so I prefered to leave mine on. It takes some tools, but is pretty easy to remove/install. I really wouldn’t sweat it.

This is my choice too. I NEVER notice the loose cap when I’m actually shooting the gun, so it doesn’t matter to me.
there’s an ample amount of room between the cap and the Omega. the HG cap cannot go further rearward than the shoulder on the barrel allows. shimming it will not allow any further movement rearward of the HG cap itself, just press it harder into the shoulder on the barrel.
if it was me, and it bothered me, i’d just pop off the FSB and remover the HG cap entirely
OK, I’m not going to worry about it for now. The other rifle’s cap is not loose though. What holds that cap in place, anyway? I didn’t install either of the rails, so I didn’t get to see it all apart.
They are both Sabre barrels with taper pinned FSB’s that are / can be (from what I here, anyway) harder to get off, so it’s probably not worth it.
Thanks all for the info.
the cap is sandwiched between the FSB and a shoulder cut into the barrel. it is radially located by the gas tube as well
