See, we don’t always agree on TV shows and movies, but we’re on the same channel with the pistol calibers choices. 10mm Delta Elite is cool factor 11. The G20 really surprised me in the recoil was far less than I’d expected and ergos decent too (for a Glock). Seems to me Glock really got the 10mm polymer pistol right in my non professional opinion.
The Delta Elite does have a pretty good “cool” factor and sexy looking to boot. They are fun to shoot and very accurate. I would agree and get a 10mm before a 357 sig.
Glock literally made the large frame around the 10MM at a time when 10MM was being shopped around as the big answer. No other autopistol handles it quite as well to include 1911s. The .45ACP was an afterthought in Glock’s case.
It’s a terribly versatile round. You can go light if you want a .40 analog or you can go heavy if you are after dangerous game. And at 15 rounds; you have more than enough.
Put some Dawson’s on it and you have a great lightweight outdoors gun without packing a .44 Airweight.
I am a big man. A seriously big and tall man and the lightweight 329 takes me for a ride. Which is why I don’t have one. IMO 4” is the shortest you want to go with a .44 and it’s worth it to have one with a little heft.
But regardless if one wanted a 10MM; you seriously cannot go wrong with a G20. I kinda don’t mess with G40s because they are too long to be practical for holsters. If I am gonna tote a hogleg length handgun; it will be a Super Redhawk
Texas DPS Troopers dumped the new M&P contract from 2014 and returned to the Tried and Proven Sig P226 in 357 Sig.
But it appears that the latest wave of recruits in training have experienced an “unacceptable” number of issues with the new gun, and the department is rolling back the changeover, moving back to their tried and true SIG SAUER P226 pistols in .357 SIG
Six inch KKM barrel for the G22,

I have a SIG P226 X5 in .40S&W sitting around, I should really get a Bar-Sto barrel fitted in .357 SIG. I think a 5" barrel all steel framed pistol in .357 SIG would be fun. That’s right fun, worth doing just for recreational value.
I kind of miss my tens, dumped them all as part f a caliber purge. Had a 3rd Gen G20, S&W 1076 & 610 5" revolver. The G20 is definitely the 10 to get, I’d probably go with the SF if I were by one today.
What is the difference between a 20 SF and a 20 Gen4?
If you want a G20 with a little soul, drop in a Dillion 9x25 barrel. Man it is fun pushing 90gr FMJ through stuff it shouldn’t go through.
Hell of a fireball as well.
Wow! You know it’s a tough crowd when a 357 SIG 125 gr bonded JHP at 1475 fps is trumped by the 124 gr bullet in 9mm at 1225 fps (1300 fps in +P+). Underwood makes 357 SIG ammo too. Some ammo manufacturers download their 357 SIG ammo to keep their bullets from coming apart at velocities they weren’t designed for in the first place. I noticed that Speers 125 gr Gold Dot 357 SIG bullet has the same hollowpoint configuration that their 357 mag revolver ammo does. That bullet is my first choice for 357 SIG.
Ever shot steel with a 357 SIG? It’s magical!
Yeah LOTS of bad info out there about the 357 SIG.
I’m it’s true form, it’s leaves any 9mm behind.
SF=small frame
The circumference is smaller in the grip.

Depends on what you are doing. For knocking steel hard, sure. For stopping human threats, the leading authority on the subject sticks with 9.
For wild threats, 10mm seems to be the auto choice
Competition has 9 major loads.
What does it offer other than fps, flash, recoil, energy, and “knockdown power”?
It does not aid in hits on target or offer better barrier performance than 9, so whats the benefit.
If you want it, thats cool, but I havent seen any scientific evidence its better.
You guys don’t go upsetting the hive mind. 9mm is the only acceptable answer.

Fixed it for you.
Yoni,
I have been down this road. Its a silly road, fraught with increased expense and recoil, but decreased capacity. Yet it has a certain draw to it.
Most soul: Beretta 96A1 with a conversion barrel. Will take time to hunt down, and will beat itself to death.
Middle ground: Sig 22x series. I carried a Sig M11 (9mm) for a living for a few years, and was in love, until they made me carry a G19. I also own a 225 and 232. Sig’s older guns are awesome.
Easy button, no soul: a Glock. This is your best choice. Even better, just get a G19 and write .357 on it with a sharpie. Feed it the plussest pees you can find that contain a XTP. Brag to your friends about how you managed to stuff 15 +1 rounds into it. For more style points, do the same thing with a PX4 Type C. You’ll be the only one in the world with that gun, and .357 sharpied on the side. 17 +1 rounds!
Sorry, went a little crazy there for a second. But seriously, get a Sig if you must chase this dragon.
I have heard, but not confirmed, that because the Gen 4 grip is smaller, that it is the same size as the Gen 3 SF. Take all this with a grain of salt. I need to get me a G20.4
Can’t believe it took so long for this to come up. I’d like to get my hands on a threaded G40 barrel in 9x25…for reasons.
That is based on a lot of stuff I dont buy into, as its not been scientifically supported:
Hydrostatic shock
Wounding effect of tc from pistol rounds
Knockdown power calculation based on m16 rifles
1960’s terminal ballistics data.
Lol, any of the service loads are fine. People just need to be honest and know what they are getting into. They are all roughly the same ballistics, recoil etc. biggest difference is price
How about a browning hi power .40 with a conversion barrel?
