Colt "ORM" Rebuild

Pretty basic build…tried to use some old pieces I had lying around.

- Stock: Slide, Frame, Barrel, S80 parts, Mag release, Ejector.

 • “Other” Colt goods: Thumb safety, Trigger, MSH.
 • Wilson Combat: Grip Safety, Extractor.
 • Vickers: Hammer, Sear, Disconnector.
 • Novak: Front/Rear sights.
 • Wolff spring pack.
 • VZ grips.
 • Removed Roll Marks.
 • Parkerized.
 • Front strap serrations and sight cuts by Dave Erickson.

Thanks,
Rob

That’s a nice clean pistol Rob!

clean straight forward fighting pistol.

Nice build, call me odd but I do like the look of a parked gun.

Very nice, no-nonsense pistol. I like the arched mainspring housing.

very nice. I had a gunsmith put a skeleton hammer and beavertail GS and new thumb safety on my ORM and he did a crap job blending the GS with the frame. it looks like crap but the total cost was dirt cheap and it works like it’s suppose to so I didn’t cram it down his throat like I probably should have. I couldn’t even shoot it before because the old spur hammer made hamburger out of my hand.

I like how clean and uncluttered your pistol looks. A dark beauty.

Excellent. Looks like a gun ought to.

Very impressive.

I’d be proud to carry that work of art everyday.

I don’t know if the larger trends in the market are returning toward simpler “Old School” guns, but I for one really appreciate this kind of straightforward approach to custom work.

Exceptional pistol.
Exceptional results.

Nice clean weapon, could you post some pics of the business end ?

Who did the park job?

Thanks for all the comments guys, much appreciated!

I’ll try to snap some more pics of the business end. Hate to say this but I have to repark the slide and frame as it took a 4 foot fall onto the concrete floor! The front strap at the mag well took the brunt of the fall, which required some file work to repair.

The parked finish was completed by me, very happy with the results of the finish!

Ouch, that sucks. Again, very nice work.

A pic after refinish wearing some VZ Double Diamonds.

Again, it looks great. How does it shoot?

Thanks Timbonez, shoots good. Next time I get it out on the range I will snap some more pics.

Very nice work ! Clean with class !
I am a 1991 (ORM) fan and I have had two re-done by Bob Miller.

That is a beautiful 1911…less is more. Very clean and functional.

Very nice.

I have a NRM that I was considering having done almost identically.

How’d you get the rollmarks off? I like the looks of a nekkid slide.
