Maybe I’m wrong, but I see desperation here… Trying to garner support from anywhere they can…That tells me that public support for their pet issue, (gun control) is fading rapidly. So, they to turn to alternate audience’s who have less interest in the subject,in a attempt to promote their message…

I don’t think it’s “Desparation” so much. It’s more of “They have a national, televised stage with very deep pockets that can be turned”.
