Well; I’ve been reading a bit and seeing a bit about this recently and I’ve come to a couple of conclusions.
A) The Mexican Governemnt is a Part of the Cartel System operating in Mexico today. The Patriots in Mexico all figured it’s easier to take a bribe than a bullet and here we are. The Mexican President can’t stop and doesn’t even want to stop the Cartels; they are a big part of the Government.
B) I do believe our POTUS has had enough of this sh*t, crunched some numbers and decided to go all covert war on the Cartel’s AKA Mexican Govenment. It’s cheaper to replace them with your own People in Mexico than to try and do business with them.
C) This will all even out in about 8 more years and we will have what we want and who we waant running Mexico.

Classic example is the Banana Wars which was well before CIA, but one of the best example of the military used to protect and promote US business interests.

Part of the Problem with the Banana Wars is the question,
“If an American Companies Land, Fruit and means of production is siezed by a Foreign Government, should the US Government via the Military become entangled in retrieving that Property?”
I would submit to you that at that time in History, there was no other recourse for United Fruit to recieve restitution. So, like it or not, “We will bust some heads if you don’t act right.” seems to be exactly what we are doing in Iran and Mexico right now.

Will that is a great book, and our government will never learn the lessons of the past, because they are way too focused on the present. While I think that Trump doing something to finally go after the Cartels isn’t necessarily a bad thing, I do think that all these Drugs and Trafficking, and whatever else they’re into is almost too big to fail, and that if we go around fighting it like the War on Terror we’ll fall into the same old 20+ year trap of winning the tactial level, but never fully committing to an end goal and that is a war we cannot hope to win.
