Has anyone fit a chopped FSB under an NSR?
I wanna keep my gas block pinned to my barrel, and I am hoping to be able to stuff it under an NSR. Or possibly the BCM key mod rail when it comes out.
Anyone have any insight here?
I cut mine down after trying a lo pro gas block that didn’t leave much clearance inside the rail. Turned out good and haven’t had any issues yet. It did take a little trial and error to get it trimmed down enough to fit under the rail, but all in all a pretty simple job.

That’s a Colt 6920. You’d have to ask IraqGunz how much clearance there is as he did the work.
I’ve shaved at least 30 FSBs and mounted them under NSR rails.
I just finished this one. Reprofiled and cerakoted black.
Really no issue…I have done 2. Shave down, test fit rail for clearance, and if it touches shave a little more.

My FSB is already chopped down under a DD Lite 12" rail. I just wasn’t sure if it would fit under the NSR due to how tight the NSR fits around the barrel.

NSR will be fine. The tightest ID on the market is the Daniel Defense RIS II and I’ve shaved 2 FSB’s to put under those…makes everything else a cakewalk.
I can attest to that-- Robb did mine. Wouldn’t go any other way…
