I’m pretty sure the US economy/dollar will crash a lot harder than China’s. Even the commies aren’t stupid enough to legislate unfunded entitlements.
Way worse, they invested in our entitlements, financial institutions and tax base, which is now either bankrupt, hiding, or in open revolt.
To the Chinese state, the Chinese people are nothing more than a resource to be exploited.
The truly disturbing thought is that our government is coming to view us in the same manner.

Saw Friedman on “Meet the Press” this morning. Just caught a minute of it, but it seemed that he was saying that China with its autocratic “democratic” government can make better and faster decisions than our “One Party” democratic government becasue we come to suboptimal decisions riddled with carve outs based on reps and senators demands.
On the face, that kind of makes sense until you realize two things:
-It is not, or it better not be, which government can better allocate resources. It is their command economy versus an economy run by the market, not govt here.
-Didn’t we already do the experiment of the command economy vs the market economy from 1917 to 1989?

Last time I was in one of these places, I wish I was in full combat gear and even then I wouldn’t have felt safe.
