I currently have a DDM4V5LW that has the Omega X rails on them. Since I live in NJ, it also has a Battlecomp that’s permanently pinned/welded.
If I wanted to switch the rails to the BCM KMR13 one, is this an easy job, or would I have to have the comp removed (and probably destroyed), and a new one permanently installed in place?
Thanks for the reply. Any suggestions for who can remove do this service for me (mill off old comp, swap rails, and pin/weld a new comp)? I may also consider cutting the barrel down to 14.5", re-thread, and permanently install a 1.5" comp on it.
It would prob be more cost effective to order the 14.5 upper with kmr rail with free BCG and your choice of muzzle device pinned from BCM and sell your DD upper
I thought about that, but I wasn’t sure how easily I could sell my upper since it has the comp permanently attached. Would only be appealing to those in AWB states.
Check your local fb sites and friends. You might be able to offload it quickly at a price that is a little less than the BCM upper, but will save you tons in shop fees and destroyed MD and new MD
Look at ADCO https://www.adcofirearms.com/shopservices/
I’ve never used them but people on M4C say good things about them. The prices seem reasonable but I don’t know about turnaround times.
