My gun dealer just got a Daniel Defense M4 Carbine V2 with the 7" rail. I like the 12" FSP rail a lot better. How tough is it to change the rail? Has 4 Allen bolts and it looks like I have to remove the front sight. Should I send it back to the factory? Just hate to mess something up. What a great rifle!
Unless you’re adept at unpinning and repinning the FSBs taper pins, you may want to farm that out… And, you’ll need the M4 wrench for the retaining nut as well… It’s not a hard job, if you have the tools and knowledge… At least you won’t need to replace the proprietary barrel nut if you stay with the M4 series rail.
Does this really belong in the “Ask the SME” section?
Sure. You ever watch Tac Tv? I figured since Larry shoots them on there with the torture tests and all he would have the answer I’m looking for.
