Ok,awhile back someone came out with a new AR and they had the castlenut on backwards,anybody remember which company had this?Was it Les Baer?

I have a picture of an Oly with a backwards castle nut somewhere.
Stopped by the Les booth at SHOT and they had them backwards on every carbine they had out there. Sigh… 
why do they do that? for staking?
The email response I got was; “After extensive testing it was determined to be better and it came from Les himself”. And then there was something about it being requested because guys were cutting themselves in situations, blah, blah, blah. They also DO NOT STAKE any of their stuff.

Their stuff was in refernce to the castle nut. I haven’t inpsected their gas keys.
Okay, just wanted to be clear. Because unstaked gas keys would be horrifying.
Les Baer has been getting by on his name for a long time and charging excessive prices for whatever he sells.

There shouldn’t be any difference in the ability for the castle nut to hold, so it is an excuse, but the gun wont blow up. I don’t know why they would do that, I see it as more difficult to install that way, and limiting the tools that can be used.
And the nut lacks the required indent for staking. :rolleyes:
it could still be staked, but it would be awkward to either stake it or get the wrench on later. I just cant believe a company tried to justify it as “better”
