Canada is melting down

After Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced retaliatory tariffs coming next month, Trump responded with an even bigger blow.

The president threatened to double the headline tariff on Canadian automobiles and parts to 50% starting in January 2027.

Trump’s intentions behind the tariffs appeared clear in a Truth Social post announcing the plans.

“Build in the U.S. and there are ZERO TARIFFS,” Trump wrote.

Meanwhile the Canadian Prime Minister talks tough but, the electric car industry has left or will leave Canada soon as thousands of discounted Chinese Cars were dumped on the market through shrewd trade negotiations with China. Then you have this.

US trade restrictions have disrupted the Canadian economy, leading to structural adjustments that will take time to unfold. Economic growth is expected to remain modest.

Tariffs have led to a lasting reduction in US demand for Canadian goods, weighing on jobs, productivity and living standards in Canada. In response, the Canadian economy is restructuring (see In focus: How Canadian businesses are adapting to US tariffs).

This restructuring involves developing new markets and supply chains to diversify Canada’s trade and reduce reliance on the United States. It also means workers and capital gradually shift from industries most affected by tariffs toward other sectors and new opportunities.

That’s the tactful way to say well, “Looks like we’re screwed for about ten years.”

We have a 60 Billion Dollar trade Deficit anually with Canada, that pisses off Donald Trump and rightly so.

Mark Carney is pissed that we wont continue with this bad deal so he cutt off negotiations and took his toys home.

I think we can last a lot longer without Canada than Canada can last without Us.

Fuck Canada.

We should invade and take what is rightfully ours since we’ve defended them for 80+ years for free.

The ones who want to be Americans can stay, the others can flee to somewhere else.

Unfortunately the vast majority of nit wits in this country haven’t a clue what a trade deficit is and only listen to whan the mongo media tells them about their shit costing more.

Zero ability to see the big picture and long term plan to position America stronger.

Canada has 1/10 of the population of the Unites States so it is not surprising that they don’t buy as much American goods as the US buys Canadian goods.

I would agree except for the whole Chinese electric Car debacle.

Canada was making a lot of electric cars many for Canadians many more for the International market. China released below production costs, for these cars to be dumped in Canada. China totally undercut the entire Canadian electric car market in Canada. Canada was too stupid to understand the repercussions.

Electric car manufacturers began leaving Canada and Canada is pissed at the United States?

If you and I are Trade Partners and you buy 100 K from me and I turn around and buy a 100 K from you the exchange of Dollars is Zero.

If I buy 100K from you and you turn around and purchase 0 from me, you are 100K ahead. We have a deficit of 100K.

By becomming a Trade Partner, you shop in my store and I shop in yours and all the money stays essentially “In House.”

That means, “Yes we are a bigger Country and yes we can absorb some loss but,” You Shop in my stores and I shop in your stores is the basis for being a Trade Partner.

Canada wants to be a Trade Partner, shop in our stores, but turns around and “F” us by shopping at WalMart and starts buying cheap Chinese Cars they upset an entire Industry and their Trading Partners and International Investors.

Canada is playing Hockey on thin, thin Ice.

Canada has been suckling on the American consumer nipple for too long. It’s coming to an end. Read the July 7 2026 KPMG Canada report. Thank you president Trump.

KPMG Canada July 7 2026: KPMG survey finds four in 10 manufacturers have moved production to the U.S. or are considering doing so as they adapt to ongoing trade uncertainty and mounting competitive pressures.

More here: Four in 10 Canadian manufacturers eye U.S. production move

I would much rather we invaded Canada than the current war with Iran. Just take all of Canada’s oil, we already have 4 major oil pipelines from the Snow Mexicans to us. It’s all set for the taking.

The only thing is I would not let any of them be Americans. Not worth the risk, seeing how they vote. Make them a territory with minimal representation.

Do they even have the GDP of CA?

So I have to ask, then where does all of this trade deficit money go? You would think with that kind of money being tossed around Canadians would be doing great right?

Canadian People are standing knee deep in a dying economy brought on by Globalists Economic Policy’s. The Average Canadian can barely afford to live.

Socialist handouts to jeets and muslim immigrants.

Ha!

Both California and Canada have similar total population numbers. California’s GDP is near double that of Canada’s.

Heck, Texas with a population of 30mil has a 20% higher GDP than Canada with a population of 40mil.

It’s about to get a lot worse for Canada… FAFO.

Yes, but they can wait in long lines for FREE healthcare if government approves. As a bonus, there’s no charge for disease progression and dying while waiting.

My Canadian (and UK BTW) friends have some terrible stories to tell about the “free” medical care. Ours sure as hell aint perfect and in serious need of improvements on many levels (cost containment being #1), but I would not trade it for their “free” care personally. I will add those in Canada with $ invariably come to the US for treatment.

Wanna hurt Canada? Stop letting their unemployed come down here for work, and revoke their actors’ green cards.

Send Ryan Gosling packing and cut off Hallmark’s pool of has-beens and talentless Z-listers, and that’s a 2x4 right between the eyes of clear message. Sorry, Shatner, you got caught in the crossfire and should have taken the opportunity to naturalize.

If you take oil out of the mix, the imbalance isn’t what Trump claims it to be.

So, if that’s the case and it’s caused by oil, why not work with Trump?

And Trump is trying to get a pipeline built and Canada wants to play World Ecological Police and not get it done?

And I ask again with the housing costs as they are in Canada right now, where is all of this money going?

And we go back to “Free Give Away’s” for all new iimigrants.

So what we are really seeing is a Globalist Agenda.

Oh for heaven’s sake… The only reason there’s US brand auto plants in Canada was to bypass import tariffs. It’s not like there was a US labor shortage or the Canadian worker was superior.

There’s no Canadian brand cars, consumer electronics, computers, appliances nor most anything American consumers use in their daily lives. Elon Musk puts satellites in orbit, Canada can’t. Places like the Congo and Cambodia and dozens of other countries have larger militaries than Canada. What was the last significant medicine Canada invented since 1921? please…

One of the few things Canada had going for them was Ice Hockey. America just beat 'em at that.

Fuck…does this all the losers that moved to Canada because Trump got elected will be moving back? Oh wait, they didn’t actually move to begin with. Oh well, zero shit allocated.
