CAN SOMEONE POST A PIC OF A LOWER 1/3 CO WITNESS AND A ABSOLUTE

Just wondering if someone could post some pics of a 1/3 co-witness and absolute and a veriety of pics looking through a red-dot.

Did you already use the search function and looked through here?

Yes but i dint see no actual pics of real photos.

You may have missed these in the thread.

The pic on the left is what i see 1/2 the front post in my optic. So i take it i have an absolute co-witness.

An absolute co-witness is when the red dot from your optic sits exactly on the top of the post of your irons, when viewed with correct front/rear irons alignment.

I use and absolute co-witness when I have flip up front and rear BUIS, with a fixed front sight post, I use a riser lifting the optic for a lower 1/3 co-witness so that the FSP doesn’t clutter the view through the optic.

The problems with taking pics of these is that the camera like to focus on one of the object rather than the 4 objects your eye is seeing.

Here you go:

This is an EOTech on a LaRue riser, carbine is a 14.5" with a fixed front sight post and approximates the idea of a 1/3 co-witness

This is an EOTech mounted right to the receiver and the carbine has a PRI flip up front BUIS, this approximates the idea of an absolute co-witness

I left the rear sight down in both pictures as they obscures the dot and front sight post…

Thanks for the pics. I would like to see an aimpoint with this setup also.

Here’s some terrible pix shots taken with my cell phone.

This is a very informative thread. Thanks much for the pics, people. Now…do you suggest shooting the carbine without an optic attatched BEFORE deciding which optic to go with? I’ve read in places where it’s suggested that one should learn to use the irons before fiddling with an RDS.

I’d love to be able to take a class soon after getting the rifle, using just irons, then move up to an RDS. Gotta look around my area for tac carbine courses.

You got that right!

As long as it’s not a low-light course, why not. If you have to shoot a low-light portion you’d be at a a serious disadvantage and could detract from learning. On the other hand, you will get a better idea of the advantages of an RDS over iron sights especially in those conditions.

Does anybody have a pic of a Larue fixed buis behind an Eotech?
I have been considering this combo of Larue BUIS and eotech on a Larue Eotech riser mount. Does anybody run this set up?If you do how do you like it? I am worried that the fixed rear BUIS will be to much clutter in my sight pic for me.

compliments of LaRue

left is absolute, right is lower 1/3

Thanks that does help me out some just wish I could see what it would look like with an eotech.

lower 1/3rd with an EOtech

Yes lower 1/3 with eotech using larue fixed buis.
