Long story short… I preordered the Hardened Edition of COD: BO II in September from Best Buy. I paid $5.00 to reserve a copy two months before the actual release date which was 11/13/12. So I came on 11/14/12 after work to the same Best Buy and they told me they did not have my copy. They stated they did not receive enough copies to fulfill the preorders… I don’t know if I should believe this or not. Why would a store sell more pre-orders than what they receive.
I contacted other stores (GameStop, Target, etc.) and all of them are out of stock. They have some copies but they are reserved for the pre-orders. I checked on-line and there are copies going for $150.00 and higher. The Best Buy Management stated they would “give me a call” when the next shipment comes in. Based off of my experience, there aren’t any additional shipments of the collectors editions. A GameStop employee also confirmed this.
We got the regular edition on the PS3 from Game Stop.
Got there at 21:00 hours Monday night and checked in at the desk. They had chips, soda, and a zombie cake to snack on. Watched some tournament play for a while, then got ‘in line’ at 22:30. I was about the 75th person back, had another 300 behind us (actually a small number considering). Line started moving exactly at midnight, and I had my copy and was driving home by 12:05!!! VERY ORGANIZED.
I like the game, but am having trouble keeping certain people alive till the end of the campaign!
The video after the credits is pretty cool I must say.
Update: Best Buy called me back and basically told me I am not going to get the hardened edition I reserved. So they screwed me over. So if I want the hardened edition, I have to spend $150.00 or more.
Best Buy has terrible customer service… It’s so frustrating.
