So is this like the whole .223/5.56 thing or like the .38/.357?
Compatible…
Robert,
your ammo for the 300blk is designed for that round, is Black Hills designed for the 300whisper/blk or is it simply .another 7.62 stuck in the whisper case ?
I am told 300 Whisper(R) chambers have tighter necks and shorter throats - but the drawing is a trade secret, and so no one seems to really know. If so, the best analogy is comparing 6.8 SPC-II (300 BLK) to 6.8 SAAMI (300 Whisper).
300 BLK is an open standard with about 85 companies making products so far - and the drawing is here:

The bullet Black Hills is using is the Sierra 125 MK 300 AAC Blackout bullet.
Good to see another big name making ammunition.
Is there a difference in the external case dimensions of the Remington 300 Blackout ammunition and that of the 300 Whisper ammunition manufactured by Black Hills and Hornady?
Good to see another big name making ammunition.

I don’t know what cases Black Hills is using. Hornady makes their cases to 300 AAC Blackout specs and it is compatible with 300 BLK chambers.
