I’ve been looking at websites all over the net for an appropriate holster, but if anything there are too many choices.
I have my FLC vest set up with four M4 mag pouches in the front around the zipper (bottom molle rows on both sides of zipper). On the sides I have canteen pouches.
I have considered replacing the right hand side canteen with a pistol holster, but since I spend extended hours at the outskirts of my ranch I’d rather have the extra water. I also do extensive walking, and the carbine ends up banging into the handgun too much when I carry this way.
This leaves me with only the upper mesh portion of the FLC vest’s molle straps to mount a holster.
I’m thinking of putting an IFAK on the right side above the M4 mag pouches, so that leaves the left breast area as the only opening for a cross-draw holster.
What do you guys recommend?
I cannot find a cross-draw holster to my liking.
Should I go with a drop leg (I’d rather not because I think it would snag on dense brush)?
I’d even consider a molle pistol “case” or “pouch” since the handgun would only be there for up-close-and-personal stuff and it doesn’t necessarily need to be out in the open. In other words, more like a backpack gun.
Or should I reconfigure my vest?
The handgun is a Glock 22, but I’ve considered a G26 or 27 to save space.
What would you guys recommend?
