The upcoming release of Wilson’s 92G Brigadier Tactical has got me thinking about some things, and since my collection is nothing but 92A1s, I was wondering what parts are not compatible between the two. There’s the obvious RSA/slide/frame/takedown button, but what about other internal and external parts?
Are all the the other parts the same (trigger, sear, safety, springs, hammer, etc.)? If not, which ones aren’t cross-compatible between the models?
That’s a good question. The guys over at the Beretta Forum are probably where you need to go to get this question answered. I’ve got several 92s, hell I was on the ACE board back in '83-'84 in Vicenza going to Milano shooting them and I thought I knew a lot about them until I met some of the guys over on the Beretta Forum years ago. As you can tell by my username, I’ve got a strong Italian connection … but all of the changes in recent years have made it difficult for me to keep up with what interchanges with what these days.
Trigger springs are interchangeable. You need to change out the polymer trigger in the 92a1 if you want to use the Wolf captured trigger return spring.
