New York woman visited by police after researching pressure cookers online
A sobering reminder how far we’ve fallen. It’s pretty crazy how everything you do online is monitored and how little evidence warrants a visit.
EDIT: Yeah, no ‘official’ confirmation yet, so it’ll be interested to see how it pans out.
The photograph with the article is deceptive. How were the police who visited the couple dressed? The photo makes it appear like a SWAT team went to the house.
You have to wonder what other factors were considered before visiting the home and what the writer of the article left out.
In the version I read they said that the pic was from the search for the Boston Bombers/gunshot-victim-honoree’s.
I do wonder what else they pegged that they got the visit, but that also seems to open the question of what else they are looking at that ‘bomber’ and ‘backpack’ gets you a visit. I saw that they guy travels to Asia- but not to where exactly.
I travel internationally, I’ve been looking at backpacks and briefcases because I’m looking for a new one. Good thing I’m a slow cooker kind of guy…
Or how far we have come with good proactive police work to help prevent another Boston Bombing. An investigative visit is far different from kicking down your door and hauling you away in handcuffs.

this is actually a friend of my fiancé’s. it’s real. she is actually a blogger and has written an article about the incident.
Or not. I mean the last incident was such resounding success and demonstration of investigative prowess being used to thwart and save lives, oh wait…

Before this turns into a contest to see just how high someone can raise a hind leg and mark a wall, let’s talk about the original post, with was a visit regarding a web search.
If this degenerates into a discussion of personalities or people here, I’m locking it and passing out infractions. I just want to get that out up front, right now.
