BCM Midlength day at the range

I got a chance to run some rounds through my BCM Middy today. I have not had any time to shoot it since I got it many months ago. I should not have waited so long.

After sighting in my Eotech 552 I started to get down to business running the rifle through its paces and getting use to it.
Over 500 rounds fired today with no problems of any kind. By no means a test of endurance. Just killing time on a Sunday afternoon.
Ammo used was Federal XM193 55gr.
All in all I am pretty happy with how it performed.
12 shot group, 93 degrees, 6500ft. alt., 100yards
Not horrible all things considered and I was using a rest. Group started to open up as the rifle heated up and I lost focus. I wasn’t rushing and I wasn’t really taking my time. Just shoot, pause, shoot. Turned out ok for a rank amature.

upside down but oh well.

That’s a great group with that optic and that ammo.

Nice

I wish I could shoot XM193 that well with my BCM middy 16 and Aimpoint. Nice looking carbine and great shooting.

Nothing to be ashamed of there.

Did you run all 500 rounds from that rest or any other firing positions?

I ran about 100 or so off the bench so I could site it in and then shoot for groups. I was also sighting in the Troy BUIS. Turned out I barely had to adjust it, just raise the front site post a tad and I was GTG. I dialed down the brightness on the Eotech way down and the 1 MOA dot was just a spec so I could see as much detail of the target as possible. I know this is not how I would use this site typically but I was trying to dial it in as best I could.

The rest I shot standing out to 25, 50, 100 yards. This is a square range and does not allow me to do anything “dynamic”. I did work on transitioning the rifle from my left side to my right (I’m a lefty) and trigger reset, mag changes. That is about all I had time or facilities for.

Under 2 MOA with an EoTech, standard barrel and xm193… That’s about as good as anyone can expect. Good rifle and good shooting, congratulations.
