Hey guys, are the BCM grips worth it? I’ve read the info on them and a few reviews, but nothing on the forums.
I see they have 2 verisons as well.
Find someone with one, if it fits your hand nicely, buy one.
It’s the only way to be sure.
Yea your right but I don’t have anybody near me that has them or has one on their rifle. The standard a2 grip has got to go.
For me they are a solution for a problem i had handling my gun. I was getting wrist pain when the stock was too close. But when i put the stock out i lost some control and compactness. Throw a BCM grip on now i can shorten my stock and keep good control of my gun.
In my opinion they work as advertised. They are much more comfortable to the current style of shooting.
On a side note, the FDE is on the light side, closer to a sand color, which matches Magpul FDE quite well. However, it does not match my LMT Sopmod in FDE, which is much darker.
I bought one and it was too small for my hands. Back to the Moe + for the time being.
Someone really needs to make a grip that is rubber coated and the size of the Moe +, but the angle of the BCM. They will sell the shit out of them.
if you want a larger feel check out the Umbrella Corporation Grip, its the same angle as the BCM but it doesnt feel so small in your hands. My only complaint is that the texture is fairly slick, nothing a little stippling or rubber inner tube cant fix though.
I have the mod 1s. I love them. Have them on both rifles, dumped the magpuls for them.

I dumped my Hogue grips for Mod 0’s, and I won’t be going back.
They are pretty nice grips…but too long.
I cut about an inch of of mine…VOILA! perfect
Actually, I have both of them sitting right here, and the Umbrella Corp is even more vertical than the BCM. Both are good grips, but it is going to be a user preference as to which is “better”.
This shows the Umbrella grip on their lower… If I had a similar shot of the BCM I would show that for comparison.
Do you like Haines or Fruit of the loom? Or something more exotic like Gucci.
I’m have large hands and the BCM MOD 1 was way to small for me. It is too skinny at the top of the grip for my hands and the length of pull for my trigger finger was extremely short. I really couldn’t use it comfortably. I have been using the Ergo 4045 for the past two months and it’s great for having an angle similar to the BCM grip while being substantially larger for my hand.

It will give you the ability to at least see different grips angles and girth. The BCM grips are on there as well as the Ergo 4045 I use. Like everyone else has said grips are probably the most personal things when it comes to M4’s. You are really are just going to have to get one in your hands to really know.
Hands are hands like parts are parts. In other words, they’re all different.
I’ve got Mod 1s on both my carbines, and like them. Then again, I ordered my first carbine from Grant, a BCM, and it came with that grip. It’s not like I searched around a lot. I greatly prefer them to the A2 grip, but that’s the only other comparison I can make.
Start with the premise that it’s from BCM, so it’s well made and well designed, whether it fits you or not. The price is certainly reasonable, to try out. (AR accessories can run to the spendy.)

I’ve been using a Umbrella grip for a couple of weeks now and I do like the angle.
It’s slick but a bicycle tube fixed that problem.
I agree with Stickman that it is even more vertical than the BCM. Also with my long fingers the thicker backstrap places my index finger in a more natural position on the trigger. MOE’s, MIAD’s, BCM’s, etc, I’d run any of them but have come to favor the Umbrella.
Just buy one that you think may like. Don’t like it? Sell it on the EE and try something else. As I say I don’t buy stuff, I rent it. If I like it I keep it. If not I sell it and buy something else. For me its the only way to really try something out and see if I like it by taking it home and using it for a while. Not just oogling something for 20 seconds at a gunshow.
I’ve been through 3 rails on one AR this year until I settled on a NSR. Just buy whatever grip you think you’ll like and run it. Then keep it or sell it

Man, you’re making it sound like it could work for me as well. I like the “verticality” of the Mod 1, but could use a thicker backstrap.
This right here. My wrists naturally don’t have much mobility, so the more vertical grip fits me much better, especially when the stock is collapsed like I prefer.
I’ve tried the Magpul MOE, the Tango Down Battlegrip, and now I’m on the BCM. The BCM is here to stay.

I recently got a BCM grip, and while it is a bit small for my hands, I still like it better than most others though. The Troy grip that comes on the Troy Carbine from Dick’s Sporting Goods is actually my most preferred grip though. As cheap as they are, I will probably try an Umbrella Corp too.
