BCM Front Sight Base F

Bravo,
I am nearing the final phase of my current build and am going to be ordering a BCM Standard 16" Mid Length Barrel, Stripped… from your company in the near future as I already have the gas tube, Delta Ring and Barrel nut.

One of the final decisions I am still trying to make is regrading if I want to go with a a low profile gas block such as the LaRue and a Daniel Defense Free Float Rail and use your
*BCM Folding Battle Sights - Front & Rear(mfg by Troy Ind)
…or if I wish instead to use an “F” Marked front sight base with a drop in rail and the Folding Rear Sight instead.

If I am understanding the website correctly the Front Sight bases you offer (http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/AR15-Front-Sight-F-Marked-p/front%20sight%20base%20-%20f.htm) will need to be drilled to install the drift pins?
(“These are new and are not yet drilled for taper pins, and should be installed by a qualified gunsmith.”)

I am not without Technical/Mechanical skills and own both a drill press and a machinist vice…How difficult of an operation is this?

IMO, that barrel should only be used with a low pro gas block or similar aftermarket gas block/FSB assembly. I would not recommend installing a pinned FSB, it is not an easy job.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply…I’ll heed your advice as I was kinda steering towards the LaRue Low Pro Gas Block and Free Float Rail system.
