Anyone own one of these? Are they readily available to the public???
I have sustained great interest in the Barrett 6.8SPC uppers. (Do they only offer uppers, or do they offer complete AR’s in 6.8SPC as well?)
How long has this Barrett 6.8SPC upper been on the market?
I guess I’m just trying to decide which lower would be best for this upper? I mean, I mentioned in another thread, that I always thought it was kind of weird, to see all these guys yeilding rifles made of two different companies receivers. Example “Colt upper and RRA’s lower”. Or- “LMT upper and DPMS Lower”…
WHAT lower would you guys use with a Barrett 6.8SPC upper? Is there an ideal lower for this Barrett upper, or is it just pick and choose as you like???
I really hope this Barrett 6.8SPC upper is available to the general public, and I hope it turns out to be quality, as most Barrett products are…

I’ve seen several of the Barrett 468 rifles for sale, but never just a complete upper. However, Barrett’s website says they are available. They list the price for the “upper conversion kit” as $1590.
The rifles seem nicely put together, but nothing really profound. I don’t like the ARMS SIR, but that’s just personal taste. I’ve heard that LMT makes stuff for Barrett, so if I had a Barrett upper I’d put it on an LMT lower. Then again, I’d use an LMT lower for any worthwhile upper.

Also, if the “conversion kit” costs THAT much, then how much for the complete Barrett 468 rifle??? WHERE does one buy the 468 complete rifle? Directly from Barrett?
Sounds like this is going to unaffordable. That’s just ridiculous. I was hoping to buy a nice 6.8SPC, but I guess I’ll have to go with something else due to those whopping prices. I had no idea it was going to be that kind of highway robbery. LOL.

Are ALL LMT lowers the same?? Of course, I realize there may be different trigger groups, or firing selector groups, but are LMT lowers generally all the same otherwise???

The Barrett’s are expensive in 6.8SPC. They are good rifles and/or uppers but, you can get the same or better quality from Grant for less money and you will get your way with your choice of options.
