(1)Just wondering ,I recently aquired a older SP1 20in GOVT profile lt wt.(2)Wanting to make it a 16in. Middy.(3) Is it possible to plug rifle gas sys . ,and Re drill for mid length? (4)This rifle is really lt. wt. would love the project of turning it into a 16in carbine.(5)If this is possible do you know size of hole for gas port? THANKS
Your best bet if you want a midlength is just to replace your barrel.
ADCO could doubtless perform the work for you, but it would probably cost as much as a new barrel by the time you were finished.
The shortest you should go with rifle gas is 18" barrel. Beyond that, I would just purchase a new barrel.
ADCO is actually coming out with their new Custom Cruiser barrel. Rifle sights, mid gas, CMV barrel.
Not cost effective…sell the old barrel buy the middie
Bravo Company should be coming out with their light wt. middie pretty soon.
