Barrel, bolt and upper receiver swap out questions...

1. Is it possible to swap out a barrel and continue to use the bolt carrier and bolt that was used with the old barrel? Do they someone mold to each other over time, much like feet do to shoes?

Yes, just check that the new barrel won’t close on a FIELD headspace gauge.

Yes, just check that new BCG won’t close on a FIELD headspace gauge.

As long as the same bolt and barrel are used, the bolt carrier doesn’t change the headspace.

So in the end somethings effect headspace, somethings don’t when in doubt check using a USGI FIELD headspace gauge.
