B.E.Meyers 249F

I got the Meyers Flash Terminators in that I ordered and wanted to share with you guys. I have seen these perform at twilight and they are awesome.

They make a Flash Terminator that is compatible with the Knights 5.56mm can, but they are backordered right now.

I will try to get some shots of it at night later on this week and post.

Here are links to a couple videos of this at night

If this link doesn’t work, go to this page and scroll to the bottom, there are two videos there.

Looks nice. Retail price on them?

C4

The DoD price is around $100.

I have never seen these outside of the DoD. They are on the B.E. Meyers site and in the ADS catalog.

I didn’t want to start another thread. Maybe folks that have this flash hider can enlighten me.

what is the difference between a 249F vs a 249F-EU?

when I Google the 249F-EU, it list a NSN, which most military parts comes with a NSN. Does that mean the EU is military-specific and the non EU is for sold specifically for civilians?

I bought theBCM MID-750-C from Grant, and is curious if this 249F-EU will fit it.
Seller of the 249F-EU is asking if I have a 9/16-24 thread so not sure if this will fit my midlength since I can’t find that thread on his site nor the BCM website

Thanks for the education

I would guess the EU stands for European, I believe the 9/16 x 24 LH is what FN uses on the FAL and likely other weapons. To answer your question no it will not fit a BCM which has a standard 1/2 x 28 thread.

I bought one from Weapon Outfitters about 3 months ago, they were running a special where they offered them at DOD pricing, I think mine was like $85 plus shipping. For a while Weapon Outfitters was the only place selling them, I guess BE myers is selling them direct now. I have mine on a SBR and like it although I haven’t shot it at night yet.

I believe Weapon Outfitters is selling them as pinned to 13.5" uppers to make them non-NFA. So these things are LOOONG. (Just something to bear in mind.)

I have one pinned on a Colt 14.5" M4 barrel and it’s about 16.8" total.

Yeah, Weapon Outfitters and putting these on 13.7" barrels. You can get a 13.7" Noveske, Parallax Tactical, or a Centurion barrel I believe. I chose the Noveske.

The M249F is long, but it doesn’t look ridiculous.

thank you. at least I avoided one possible disastrous purchase.

I put one on my HK 556 and shot it for the first time yesterday. There was no discernible pinging sound when shooting. I shot it during the day so flash wasn’t observable. The rifle shot very well with it attached.

I paid around $90 for mine.

I’m guessing the groove at the front of the device is for a brush guard snap ring.

You guess correctly.

By any chance, they had an email alert for this? I’d like to get one around that price too. I’m not sure I want to go thru Armlist, or the slightly-used route? Thanks

It is 97 bucks right now which must be what I paid because I bought from them as well. Less money than some lesser products currently on the market.

thanks HKGuns

received this email from BE Meyer Rep

Our 249F-EU in a metric version of our 249F. The size is 9/16-24 LH. If you are running a BCM I’m not sure this would fit it. Most American made weapon’s are 1/2 -28. *********************************************************************

All of our flash hiders have an NSN number assigned. There is zero difference between civilian and Military versions. Actually, they are one in the same.

EU is for European (metric)

I hope this helps.

thanks for everyone’s help

gents, i’ve dealt with Johnny when trying to source a few 249F’s for some of my high-speed buddies. he’s a stellar human being. we eventually just ordered two and hoped for the best - they made it through the .mil postal service just fine, we tried one on a 7.5 and another on a Mk18 - the 7.5 performed much like a 14.5 w/ an A2 and the Mk18 was near enough as to not make any difference totally dark. they are fantastic.

i’ve got three waiting at home.

I agree, I corresponded with him about some specific questions on mine and he was great to deal with.

The civilian version from Surefire is three prong, the .mil version (for the SOCOM contract) is four.

The BE Meyers is four.
