This is not AAC. It will be built expressly for the AXR. It will be can over barrel. One variant will be available as a direct connect to the A2 flash hider QD mount. Thanks for the interest.

Please keep us posted on the new cans. I for one am very interested.![]()
ETA: I’ve always heard that the AUG won’t suppress well due to several design features. I’m guessing that won’t be the case with the AXR. Have you modified any features with suppression specifically in mind?
No, nothing is modified, the can does the work.

The latest AXR news update:
There’s a short video of the AXR testing and evaluation at the TPD USA website, click on the Action Videos link button and enjoy. ![]()
Here are a couple more shots of what we are cutting now. We have a mid length rail and a extended rail as well. The other rail shots are on my CAD mans computer, when I get to work tomorrow, I will grab them and add them here. I held on to these for some time as we dealt with the Patent office on a couple things.

Not much longer now. Rails are removable and they slide forward, no need to disassemble the weapon to get them off!

New video of AXR in action!
Hmmm, for some reason my computer won’t play the video.
You might need to download a free PC Windows version of the QuickTime player.
I have both the Windows Media player and QuickTime in my PC and the video plays on my QuickTime player.
This video is supposed to play on 4.0 and newer versions of Quicktime, I have had one other guy say he could not get video and I went to the apple site and found the download, told him to download the FREE 7.0 version and he is good to go. His older version was preempting the newer version some how.
Hope this helps.

Funny thing is it played on my 3 year old computer but not the 1 year old one of my wifes. Guess I need to update her laptop.
Looking forward to these coming out.
I think I may like it more than the FN, doesnt look as busy.
I agree, and the hammer pack they use is just a knock off of the AUG’s. If you look at the majority of the BP out there they have adopted most of the features of the AUG.

Hammer pack in the FN is a knockoff? I was hoping that was what you were saying as it would be strange to criticize the trigger pack in this new rifle as an AUG knockoff ![]()
The trigger pack in our AXR is a steyr hammer pack, not a knock off.

TPD-PMAG smoke mags should be available in about 3 weeks from TPD USA

I asked this before, but I think it got lost. Can these be converted to lefty use?
The TPD AXR first batch of rifles cannot be converted to a left hand, because there are no cutout in the stock for a left hand ejection port.
TPD said that after the first batch of rifles are done they will offer a convertible left hand model.
Good to hear
Thanks. That sucks, but it’s also good to hear. I’ve wanted an AUG for 12 years now, but I want an affordable AUG so I can shoot the hell out of it. An affordable, American made AUG is even better.
