ATF and AR Pistols...time to sell?

God forbid Biden becomes President, I think the ATF will feel emboldened to extend the BS they’re doing with the ‘Q’ line of products. I’m sure some will disagree with me but I’ve two AR pistols and really treat them more as range toys so am thinking between the two issues, I may sell them and put that money into another LMT MWS308. I just got one and really want another.

One AR pistol is in 5.56 and the other is 300blk; I can make an argument to keep the 300blk as I can hunt with it but even then, I’d probably use a .308 hunting deer, coyote, pigs, etc. even though it might be a bit overkill.

Thoughts? Am I overreacting on the ATF thing and/or wrong re: the latter?

SBR one of the lowers…or both.

Dude what? Why would sell them? Just throw a stock on them and live your life.

The boogeyman isn’t going to come find you in the middle of the night.

Noncompliance.

This is the way.

You’ve both a point there but was trying to avoid all that. I’ll probably end up keeping them, too fun to shoot and easier for my wife/daughter to handle than a full-sized rifle. Thanks.

So this is basically your plan?

Funny…to someone I guess. You really showed me.

What is wrong with AR pistol??

last I heard they are going after braces, not AR pistol itself. Now I understand that can change, but if they are coming after that, then they are probably coming after all other AR15/AR10 variants

I have a pistol, but never put a brace on it.

Recently I have seen an uptick of AR pistols for sale locally. Coincidence? Maybe. Possibly.

We should all take a lesson from the states and individuals practicing nullification of federal drug laws.

The 2A community could stand to learn a thing or two on this front.

Maybe instead of just saying “shall not comply” we should not comply.

Keeping them

Solid plan. You can always drop a $50 stock on if laws change, as long as they are not SBR’s.

PB

…or you can make an SBR and in essence tell the Feds to go pound sand…

Agree, but now it is 100% on a list…easier to grab when they abolish the NFA…

It is what is it… Embrace the suck…

No one is coming for your guns.

They can abolish this or institute that. Makes no difference.

The 2nd amendment is a dead letter and meaningless. The 2nd amendment doesn’t protect or secure a thing. The constitution is a dead document for that matter. And has been for quite some time.

Don’t get me wrong. They do want your guns. But it sure as hell isn’t the 2nd amendment that keeps them from coming for them.

The reason they aren’t coming for your guns is they simply can’t figure out how to do it. It’s a logistical issue. The sheer number of guns and the gun culture in this country is what keeps those firearms in your hands. Not the 2nd amendment.

There are simply more of us than them. Which leads to my original point. When are we gonna stand up as a community and tell the feds we aren’t going to follow their dictates any longer?

I doubt we will. Which is why we continue to lose day in and day out.

The game’ll be like Canada, try to whittle us down a little at a time however and wherever they can trying to get the numbers to where they can take on the few that are left.

Look at how they did it up there, a multi-generation strategy that’s finally approaching its regrettable endgame.

Whatever else it’s been this year should be at least a minor setback to that plan if the publicized gun sales figures are correct.

Chasing down brace owners would consume massive resources and have zero effect on crime in the US. A cynic would say that guarantees it will happen.
