Armageddon Arsenals On The Military Channel...

At first my concern was “God no, not another prepper show equating nutball doomsday retards with the gun community.”

But while not quite Tac TV, the show wasn’t bad. Firearms were presented in a responsible way by mostly responsible people. And some of those people got some “real world” assessments on areas of improvement.

Worth a look.

I watched it, only one episode to date. Not sure if Discovery will keep it going or what, the host is former 75th Ranger.

The shows are getting better! Discovery has gone from The Devil’s Ride (aka lil bitches on bikes) to Warlocks Rising which seems to be a better 1% biker show.

Anyone know of a place to watch it?

Military Channel.

Here is what I look like…here is what my wife and family look like…here is my stash off goodies…here are all my guns and ammo…here is where I live. Look at me! Look at my cool M-1A and all my food stored up. All on national tv for everyone to see.

Does anybody else think…in this day and age (…and political climate) that being on one of these programs is a very bad idea?

I certainly do.

Personally, I don’t want anyone I don’t know really well to know very much about me or my house, habits or possessions.

No doubt. But we live in the age of LOOK AT ME. People don’t feel important unless they are whoring attention 24/7.

I would not be caught dead on TV for any reason whatsoever.

But if you aren’t posting pics on the internet, how will anyone know who the “cool kids” are?

I probably would pass on the whole reality TV show thing. But this is the internet. It takes the average person 10 seconds to find out where I live given the amount of online business I have done in the last decade.

My “personal collection” is bordering on internet famous. I’ve shot with enough people they know what I have. So a reality TV show really wouldn’t put me out there that much more.

Now certainly some of this is likely motivated by “self gratification” of having people recognize accomplishments. This is why women show off their tits and men drive expensive sports cars.

Add to that my whole life has revolved around firearms. You could probably have interviewed my high school class and most of them would have assumed I “probably have a bunch of machine guns and stuff like that.”

And how about all those that post their entire damn lives on Facebook?

Here is a picture of me, here is where I live, here is how many kids I have and what they look like, here is my car, here is where I work, here are my guns and other expensive material belongings.

Then, they spill their guts on everything by typing out their views, opinions, political beliefs, religious rants and often times things that certain groups might find offensive.

Sorry…but I’ll pass on all of that shit. The potential of this info being used against me is great. Especially these days.

And don’t give me that “well…nobody can SEE it unless you friend them” nonsense. You put it out on the web…there is some clever bastard somewhere that CAN dig it up!

Call me paranoid but I say no on placing tons of personal info out on social websites for all to see.

I watched the show and didn’t get much from it. It did (round about) lead me to discover “safe arms channel” on you tube.

It wasn’t nearly as goofy as “Doomsday Preppers”

I don’t think many here are going to learn a lot from it. It just wasn’t the ridiculous show that most of them are. It was interesting as a benchmark to see what a regular “normal” preparedness kind of guy can and can’t do when given some basic tests.
