Yes they are. The pictures from the mall attack in Kenya a couple of years back also showed a mix of SCARs, M4s, G3s, and AKs. Getting SCARs must be a nice benefit of US foreign aid.

I think this act will prompt Kenya to launch an assault on insurgents inside Somalia. I’d also imagine that our troops will be involved in some capacity.
Odd question, but what ammo are they using?
Like what manufacturer? Zero interest in a SCAR but would be nice to know how it runs using that ammo.
On another note, it is a step up from aging FALs.
No idea what ammo, but SCARs run on pretty much anything. Probably some sort of 145gr FMJ maybe? Probably whatever they feed the FALs
My has eaten 130gr OTM, 145/149gr FMJ, 168/175gr OTM.
Lube, no lube or cleaning for 750rds, suppressed or not. My sample of one just runs and runs and runs.
SCARS are certainly appropriate for going up against bad guys who just executed 147 people. Kenya, especially northern Kenya, is the front line on terrorism.
Kenya has been in Somalia for years already.
My bad, you are correct. What I meant to say was a full scale assault to get rid of them for good, not just create a lawless buffer zone, which is what “African Union” forces did awhile ago in the southern part of the country.
