I apologize if this has been asked/answered, but I can’t find a search feature on tapitalk.
But, as the title says, if you aren’t living in a ban state, are LE/Govt restricted mags legal to own/use. I was going through about 4 dozen USGI mags and found about 1/4 of them to be manufactured between 1999 and early 2004. I just don’t want to get into any questionable situations over these.
Today, yes you are fine. Tomorrow if you don’t contact your representatives and demand they oppose proposed “assault” legislation and “high capacity” bans, maybe not. If new legislation passes you will be in the “questionable” position you fear.
They are legal unless your state or local law says it’s not. The LE/Govt restrictions were lifted from Federal law in 2004 and those “restricted” magazine became unrestricted.
The LE/GOV ONLY markings were a result of the ridiculous, useless AWB from 1994-2004. These mags were also stamped with a date corresponding with the ban. Once the ban sunset, the LE/GOV ONLY markings now mean nothing - assuming no other state/local restrictions.
ETA - the two responses above mine came in while I was typing…
Thank you for your help. This is what I was thinking. I’m well aware of the current political climate, and have taken necessary actions to let my senators and representative know where I stand on the matter.
