I’ll keep an eye out. Armsunlimited had new Colt 20s for $12 shipped up until about two weeks ago. Have a handful of them myself, they work fine. Prefer them over the Brownells one, and I know that will cause some pissed off people. Anyway, I will keep an eye out for deals. If I see used USGI 20’s, like the old metal followers again pop up I will def let you know, those are kind of cool.
I prefer the USGI 20s myself as well. i like the profile and length better than the Magpul ones I have had, and straight is just better, and I too would like to have some of the original Mapgul 20s, never got into them until gen 2s were pretty mainstream and refuse to pay the going rate on them currently.
Probably won’t be doing much in the form of AR’s this coming year. As far as guns go, I got a Savage Mark II BV 22lr for Christmas. I’ll buy a Leupold for that. I’m also going to get a B&C Alaskan Sporter Stock for my Remington 700 Classic 280 Rem.
Having my pole barn built right now. So I’ll be spending a lot of my extra time and money on that once the contractors are done. Gotta make it my master car, truck, gun, atv, dirt bike, snowmobile, plow, mower, chainsaw playhouse!

-Colt 6920 SBR for heavy use/classes
-Colt 6960 for carbine matches/2-gun
-OBR 762 or GAP10 for local precision matches

Build up another utility/beater carbine just because, run it like a rented mule, see what breaks, if anything. Give the 6720 a little time off

I am all for Colt first and foremost but any reason for it over the others you already have?
I guess I am retarded too, because I prefer 20 round magazines as well. I shot Ruger Mini-14 rifles for years (all gone now), and predominately used 20 round mags. I have the standard and 20 shorty Mags ( Okay & MagPuls), but just like how the smaller mags protrude less below the rifle. And for me, I am not overly concerned about capacity in target shooting.
That said, my Oh shit, Go Bag is filled with 6 MagPul and HK standard capacity 30rd mags loaded with 5.56 Ball and TAP rounds.
Two different rifles have delivered poor accuracy and the customer service experience lead me to move on to another mfg. Simply a case of speaking with the wallet.
My AR resolutions:
- Shoot more
- Purchase a progressive reloader
- Take a training class
- Continue stocking up on ammunition and reloading supplies
Perfectly good reasoning. And I can’t blame you for going off personal experience. I try not to be married to any one brand. Literally own one each of a BCM, Colt, Noveske, and DD(2011 era) with the others I own being made from Various important components of the aforementioned brand. Like you my goal this year is to slim down the collection. I think I am going to cut it down to The Noveske, BCM, and 2 of my custom builds that are 10 inch “pistols” one in 5.56 and one in .300BLK. Everything else is just extra. Hell my Car gun is an X95 now, not even an AR.
Kwelz there is something to be said about opening a safe and not having clutter lol. Although I suppose the m4carbine thing to do is just get a bigger safe 
I am stepping up my suppressor game this year and picking up a Surefire 556-RC2 and Ryder 9Ti. Those combined with my SDN6 will give me peace and quiet for every caliber I shoot.

To be honest, I don’t have any “AR Resolutions”…At this point, I’m pretty much completely bored with firearms and shooting. It stopped being fun and has turned into a chore.
I think I’m going to just lock the safe for 2018 and find something else to do with my hobby time.
I kinda just want to sell everything, but I’m not decided on that…Maybe good long cooling off period will help me finalize a choice.
Develop a new gas system optimized for PDW barrels.
I still need to install/finish the upper build with my 16" Optimum barrel. I’m delaying it until I have optic in hand.
