Pistols are to inaccurate and weak; shotguns are two powerful on the user and low on tap.
An AR is nether of those, They are tack drivers; deliver with the right ammo massive stopping power with the ever more advance self-defense ammo penetration too. Light-weight billions of configurations to your fit, plenty of rounds on tap, very accurate, low chance of going through walls relativity to the other two. Very little report and almost no recoil. To much to even put down.

??? have you ever shot an ar15 indoors ?!?! pistols are not innacurate and weak and when doing high risk entrys i leave my ar in the vehicle and carry a pistol and a short barrel shotgun (what is your version of innacurate at 15 yards ?? ). not sure if your trolling or trying to make a serious claim. i agree an ar15 is an awesome choice for home defense but certainly not the end all choice.
