AR #29 build

Well, last night, I finished up the upper on AR #29 (I actually have 30 ARs). The only things I lack for now is a 1-4x24 scope, mount, and possibly a bipod adapter and Harris bipod. I have considered setting it up as a Recce build, but I am not sold just yet. I have not built a Recce since 2007.

Here is the build list as it stands:

Upper Receiver:
New Frontier Armory Billet Upper Receiver (TGD Firearms)
Radical Firearms 16" Mid Length Barrel - 1:7 Twist - SOCOM Contour - QPQ Melonite
Smith & Wesson Enhanced Enhanced Flash Hider
Odin Works Low Profile Gas Block (.750)
DS Arms Mid-length Gas Tube w/ Armalite Roll Pin
BCM Gunfighter MOD 4 charging handle
Midwest Industries SSM M-LOK Series One Piece Free Float Handguard, 15-inch Rifle (MI-SSM-15) (black)
MAGPUL MBUS Gen 2 Front & Rear Flip-up Sights (black)

Lower Receiver:
C3 Defense Billet Lower Receiver
MAGPUL B.A.D Lever - Battery Assist Device
MAGPUL Trigger Guard (black)
BCM Stock Mounting Kit (Mil-Spec)
LaRue Tactical R.A.T. Stock (black)
LaRue Tactical A-PEG Pistol Grip (textured, black)
KNS Precision Gen 2 Anti Rotation Trigger and Hammer Pins (Standard)

Looks like a nice setup, however I have to ask: 30 ARs? That sure seems like overkill to me. Not trying to say anything bad, but how many of them do you shoot regularly? I have 5 and I can’t find the time or money to shoot all of them regularly. But more power to you!

30 ARs…that’s awesome. I was worried that I had gone crazy by having 4.

30 Ar’s…Keep it going, I envy you sir. No such thing as too many. If my count was that high I’d be working on a walk in safe

I do find it difficult to shoot them all regularly. Every once in a while, I will take a few out that I have not shot in a while and put a few rounds though them. I have a couple I do not shoot (a pristine 1977 Colt SP1 and a pristine 1993 Colt Sporter Match HBAR/MH6601). All in all, I really enjoy building them. It is a challenge to build a different setup every time. I try to consider what purpose I intend for the build and go from there. One big benefit is that I can outfit a small platoon with ARs and ammo. (LOL) Seriously, I really love the platform. I have been shooting M16s/AR15s since 1978. My first weapon I was issued in the Marine Corps was a M16A1. I was just 5 points shy of qualifying “Expert”. I had to settle with “Sharpshooter” instead. It started my passion for the platform.

Good job.
