Very interesting. My Precision Armament EFAB did very well considering it outperforms many dedicated flash hiders in terms of flash reduction.

They just keep quietly making some of the best muzzle devices on the market… For any price.
And, it appears that they eliminated the expansion chamber inside the original AFAB mini in favor of a ribbed/corrugated interior profile much more like the EFAB. The lack of an expansion chamber will decrease the backpressure created in the gas system, one of the only drawbacks of the original AFAB mini. So, the new AFAB has no flash and now creates very little additional gas system pressure.

Wonder why the Surefire brake was left off?? Would have loved to see how that stacks up.
I am surprised the DRAGON was not further down, I am not a fan of it at all. While doing some testing on a Lantac DRAGON with another forum member, trying to experience unicorn farts as some say it yields. What we did experience was the DRAGONs violent blowback directed at the shooter and it was bad!, additionally it is heavy. I was not overly impressed with any part of it. YMMV
I owned a dragon for several months and it had a recoil impulse that was noticeably sharper than the trusty ole PWS FSC556. Blast was about the same, too.
So why get the EFAB when the new AFAB slightly outperforms it while having the same features?
I think the Surefire ProComp was evaluated in Part 1 of their testing.
Not sure what you mean. According to the chart, the EFAB beats the new AFAB. The legacy AFAB mini reduces rearward recoil slightly more than the EFAB, but it also caused slight muzzle dip and increased gas system back pressure.
For flashy ammo, I’d imagine that the EFAB would perform better.
Sorry you are correct, I misread the chart. But considering the new AFAB and the EFAB are so close to each other in performance does it warrant the extra $50 especially if they redesigned it to act more like the EFAB in regards to back pressure and flash reduction.
It sounds like the gap is closing. I’d imagine that, for non SBR users, the AFAB may be all most people need.
Meh, thats ironic as I switched the DRAGON out that day for the FSC556. We just did not experience all the hype, but were left with a bad taste. I dunno, I wanted the Lantac to work out and be effective but unfortunately not the case.
I did too. It wasn’t bad, honestly. But, when I was honest with myself, it didn’t do anything the FSC556 didn’t do… And it has more blast and flash.
The unicorn tears didn’t materialize for me, either.

I picked up one of the dirt cheap Amazon brakes (Field Sport $14-19) after watching the YouTube comparison, have to say I love it. My fellow shooters at the range, not so much.
Is it just me or is the whole market segment of brakes and comps over-hyped and over-priced? Not saying there not a lot of great products out there, but a lot of marketing reminds me of infomercials, and I am not sure how much bang for the buck a lot of it offers.
