Anyone ever order from American Reloading?

My home identifies as a Good Will, we are ready to receive them.

Rock yer pride!

Well crap it took them 5 days to ship!

In their defense they DID say “will ship as soon as possible”…

Will report when they arrive!

Yea, overall, I don’t think that’s bad. The more of you dirty dogs that find out about these guys the busier they will be, LOL Considering the price of a lot of their items I say it’s worth the wait.

Got my ship notice today. Wednesday order, Friday Shipping… assuming that doesn’t mean the just printed a label, and it really hits the road monday or something.

Received primer order yesterday; a six day turnaround from order placed to delivery.

I’ve ordered bullets from them a few times and zero complaints from me. They offer some great deals once in a while.

I thought you were one of the ‘well stocked’ guys around here?

No freaking way I am buying at the current prices. These last salad days we had (Trump in office) I laid in deep enough to be good for a long, long while.

Multiple barrels will need to be shot out here before I ‘need’ to buy primers again.

I suppose “well stocked” is subjective/relative, dependent on range expenditure.

My ass puckers if I get down to XXK primers.

Very true.

We have never said, damn we have too many primers and powder, EVER. When you shoot hundreds of rounds every week, every week with 2/3 range trips and comps…We bought an ass ton of Wolf Small rifle primers years ago and still feel like hoarding them sometimes. When you burn through your first 10,000 and start to think, well there is an end in sight.

Relative is the word.

Agree to an extent but…

Primer prices are currently not anywhere near what I would call low enough to lay a big order in and ‘stockpile’ at. If (and it is not likely) my current stock gets super low I might buy ‘some’ to maintain but no way I am laying in bigly at rape prices.

In that same respect if I get ‘too low’ on say SRPrimers and start to feel uncomfortable - I will just switch to shooting LPP stuff for a good while, or SPP stuff for a while, or LRP stuff for a while…

It would take a few years and a few barrels before I get to where I am forced to bend over and pay rape prices.

I am still buying components currently (and spending about my usual amount) - Just not buying the insanely overpriced stuff. Example: Bullets are not anywhere near as inflated as primers are right now price wise.

It’s pretty obvious that people are willing to spend $100+/k for primers to be able to enjoy their hobby. I cringed and paid $38/k for CCI pistol primers near the beginning of covid. That’s nearly 4x what I paid when I got started reloading in the early 90s.

I think that by the time everything settles down, standard primers are going to be $50/k and powder will be $40/lb.

More and more sales are popping up on ammo and if the trend continues, I think that will put pressure on reloading components to start dropping as well.

Totally agree. We’ve bought primers in 100 counts to nudge along ammo production. As a guy who bought Wolf SRMs from Wideners at $14.99 per 5000 in the glory days, seeing over $300 for the same count is ridiculous.

I went down that road years ago also but bought SPP at that price, probably 15/20K, and probably only 10K of SRP. Sadly, all the pistols are gone and I have about 4K of the small rifle left. I don’t think I paid much more for them but I still have 10K of the Tula SRPs,markm you guys ever use those? As far as prices now, I hope they come down and @ American Reloading the small pistol has actually come down some but yea there are still over $300 for 5K. If nothing crazy happens in the next 6/8 months maybe they will get down to that magical $50 bucks for 1K, time will tell.

My order still shows “label created” only so far. :jester:

Small order, and I don’t need the bullets immediately, but damn.

Yeah, after a few days of no shipping notification, I messaged them with an inquiry…no reply, but that day it showed “shipped, Fed Ex 2-day”, so, cool.

Got 'em last night, very pleased! Supposed to be blems, but seem fine. Weighed a bunch of them, no greater weight variation than any other lot of bullets.

Got a bunch of 'em loaded last night, so by end of today we’ll have 500 rounds of 124gr V-Crown JHP loaded up for the stash.

I’ll probably shoot a few just to confirm they’re as accurate as the new bullet of same type that I bought from Optics Planet for WAY more several months ago. Don’t see why they wouldn’t be.

Life is good!

Fedex now says delivery tomorrow. Not sure who is goofy in this deal!

HA! Looks like they shorted me 4 bullets. Still a bargain for 38.99 delivered for 500 V-Crown JHPs. Very pleased, will hopefully buy from them again.

Load shoots great, as expected, 5 shot group today at 25yd, 2", offhand, G19.4 w/ Dagger slide/Swampfox Liberty.

Shot a nice clean Bill Drill in 2.96 too. A little rusty on the time, but solid hits. Avg. split .27.

Life is good, thank you American Reloading!

Side note: boxing some of this up, I grab an old 50rnd box from Speer, 124gr GD +p…with a price tag of 10.00…needless to say, a tear rolled down my cheek…

@ViniVidivici Would you mind sharing your load data? I picked up a few thousand of those same 124 gr bullets and I’m starting to develop loads with them.

Roger.

124gr V-Crown JHP

I do seat them deeper than where the cannelure is on these bullets.

This batch is in Everglades once-fired range brass.
