Any longer term TWS Dogleg reviews out there with the Gen 3?

I have not found on this site anything beyond 2 years on a Gen 2 system. I recently put a Gen 3 on a DRACO - no side mount, and would like to know how things have gone in the long run.

Thanks.

I don’t have any firsthand input unfortunately, but noticed those a couple years ago and was intrigued. Never took the plunge and instead went with the KNS “RPK” rear sight with windage and elevation adjustable peep. Hell, they are the same price as the TWS!

I too would be curious to hear how the TWS endured over higher round counts, namely the front hinge pin.

One of the long term reports in that thread went on about the rail NOT being stable because the rear of the receiver cover would get off track when simply bumped. The Gen 2 construction was the same here I think. He did not report on whether he ever tweaked the cover in the rear per instructions.

TWS is adamant that you do this - mine came quite tight already - I think many users were not checking this.

Regrettably, I lack any direct personal experience, however I did see such a few of years ago and found them fascinating. I opted not to take the risk and instead chose the KNS “RPK” rear sight, which has a peep sight that can be adjusted for windage and elevation. Indeed, they are priced equivalently to the TWS.
I am also interested in learning about the durability of the TWS, particularly regarding the front hinge pin, when subjected to greater round counts.

It seems that forums are a tough place to get information these days and i’m not sure why.

Maybe its because we are saturated with options, but it used to be that you could find useful first hand experience to compare systems, devices, etc. in forums.

That is a general comment and not a shot at this forum. You cannot find anything that useful on the AK forums about the TWS DL either.

There is ONE video that presents a user with Ranger/Inf experience but not over a particularly LONG term.

I watched that video as well. Honestly, I would have expected to see more reviews on the TWS rail since it seems popular.

True: and good on TWS, they seem to be growing - but wow - not much on their rail. It would be good to see a comparison with a Zenitco/Barwarus and/or MI system top cover. But I predict this will never be done.
