I don’t doubt that played into the timing.
I read where Trump told FOX this morning that they originally had planned this for 4 days ago but the weather didn’t cooperate. Who knows, but the timing is indeed perfect!
Will Brink, I anxiously await your comments!
Let’s see if we can get a tour of the Kalashnikov factory they’ve been “building” for the last fifteen years.
As you may recall, I have been posting on/discussing the Venezuelan situation here for like a decade. Still wanting to get the real details before commenting much. Lots of happy Venezuelans in FL out. You can bet there’s a lot of planes full of Cubans, Russians, Chinese, and Iranians leaving in a hurry. That part is good. Will they put the guy who won the election in as new leader? That would make the most sense and appear best PR wise. Or María Corina Machado Parisca. I do worry that, as is so common, remove the monster you know and it goes from bad to worse when a vacuum is filled if they don’t stabilize the place quickly.
My take it, insiders set Maduro up in exchange for less death and destruction knowing they would end up dead or in prison if they didn’t make a deal. I’m not concerned the US repeats mistakes: wins the military part quickly, no plans and arrangements on stabilizing the place.
We HAVE to keep NFA on the books now.

Amazing CNN moment, Trump is Putin?

The perfect example of F’ing around and then finding out.
Good big picture break down:
Overnight, the United States conducted strikes in Venezuela under Operation Absolute Resolve, resulting in the capture of Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. Maduro is now reportedly in U.S. custody and expected to face charges in federal court in New York. That’s the headline. But the real story isn’t about regime change, democracy, or even drugs. In this video, I walk through what we actually know, what’s still unclear, and why the next 24–72 hours matter more than the first hot takes flooding social media right now. Then I explain what this operation is really about. Yes, oil matter, but not Venezuelan oil. Yes, the indictment matters, but it’s only part of the story. The real issue is strategic denial: • The vulnerability of U.S. Gulf Coast energy infrastructure • The Panama Canal and global shipping choke points • And why Venezuela matters in a future China–Taiwan contingency This wasn’t just an arrest operation. It was about removing a future threat vector in the Caribbean while the U.S. stares down a pacing challenge in the Pacific. I also cover: • The legal basis for the operation • Why this isn’t Iraq 2.0 • Who actually wins and loses • And what to watch for next inside Venezuela If you’re trying to understand why this happened now — and not just what happened, this video is for you.
Well, I would say this doesn’t initally look good for the Home Team, She’s been a player through two Presidents.
She really has no other choice, but Edmundo González was the democratically elected president, and should be transitioned to do what he was elected for at some point. That would likely be best accepted by citizens of Venezuela and the world. I don’t know anything about his politics and positions, but he was elected and the legitimate leader. This was decent and from the top at least vs rando speculation, and done on TDS media:

The saga began in earnest in 2007, when Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez orchestrated a sweeping nationalization of the country’s oil sector. Focusing on the Orinoco Belt—one of the world’s largest reserves of heavy crude—Chávez’s government demanded that foreign oil companies relinquish majority control of their projects to the state-owned Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA). This move was part of Chávez’s broader “Bolivarian Revolution,” aimed at redistributing oil wealth and asserting sovereignty over natural resources.
A lot of American Companies got cut out the deal after massive infra structure investments.

Maduro’s personal Security was Cuban, not Venezuelan.
This Guy thinks it will take days for this to shake out, the Military will grab Power and we44 can work with the Military.
Maduro’s history in Venezulan Politics and why are the Democrats throwing shade now?
What do you do when you’re so corrupt and inept that you can’t trust your own countrymen for security? You hire foreign mercs and/or get them from a patron state.
Not saying I’m glad the Cubans died in the fight but I’m kinda glad it wasn’t Venezuelans.
A dictator that doesn’t trust his own people for protection…. what an insult to the Venezuelan people.
I have not seen this mentioned but it ought to be a biggie– all the Venezuelan gold that Maduro spirited out of Venezuela to….. so easy to guess where, they ought to be getting that back. No doubt it was meant to fund a lavish Maduro lifestyle after getting kicked out. Let’s hope it hasn’t all bee squandered on the war on Ukraine. Venezuela could no doubt use it.
Do we want the oil….? Sure, why not? And not a damned thing wrong with it. We were 80% of Venezuela’s oil revenue – keyword there, “revenue.” As in, buying it, not taking it. They were 20% of our imports and we have got along fine without it but…. why not get it again? That’s what made Venezuela rich in the first place, pretty sure they’d like to be rich again.
Maduro Apparently claims to have had numerous US Lawmakers on his payroll.

Lets see the Names.
If so– not shocking. Probably not so….. let’s see the proof.
This was the list published on X. Supposedly it was provided by Venezuelan General Carvajal who pleaded guilty to a bunch of charges in June. No idea how real this is.
