9.7 lbs, fully loaded

A major thanks to this community, and happy late fourth!

Congrats, nice rifle indeed.

Nice build!

Looks great. Now time to build another.

O

Nice build. Did you mean 7.9 lbs.? 9.7 seems heavy even fully loaded.

No, it’s 9.7 pounds. 2.8 pound lower and 4.3 pound upper. It’s no big deal to me, the last AR I lugged in practice was over 11 pounds fully loaded. This seems like a feather compared to that.

Looks like those countless hours paid dividends. Very nice.

Nice rifle. Did you go with a mid-length or carbine gas system?

This is a mid length. Is it fair to say I can expect about 1-2MOA out of this rifle? Or should it be better? 55gr XM193 loads.

Nice looking setup how do you like the aimpoint micro.

Love it…I had the aimpoint longer than i’ve had my rifle, and it’s served me well.

Nope. “Should” being operative.

I wouldn’t consider XM193 to be 1-2 MOA ammo so don’t be upset if the rifle doesn’t shoot 1-2MOA with it.

Nice boom stick…great choice in parts. Even consider a fixed rear sight such as the DD?

I have, but I like a folding sight because it gets a bit too cluttered for me when my dot is actually working.

I am in the process of buying some 62gr TAP and 77gr SMK to test accuracy. I shot about 1.5 MOA with XM193 at 25yd using irons, I am curious if I can get 1MOA or below at 100yd (for fun, of course).

How are you determining your 1.5MOA measurements? Are you simply saying its shooting 1.5" at 25yds or are you shooting getting groups in the .375" range?

I measured them, they were as you said, about .35" apart. Looked like a cloverleaf.

Sweet…sounds like a shooter. Try sticking a scope on it at some point to really see what it will do.

I plan on shooting it with my scope currently on my Remington 700…as soon as I can find some decently cheap match ammo.

Awesome system OP, lightweight is really starting to appeal to me.

Thanks Wiggity. This rifle fully loaded is less than 10 pounds, and without a magazine it’s under 9. That said, my RRA before was about 12 pounds loaded. This is an absolute wonder to shoot comapred to the RRA!
