In this video I take a closer look at the Walther P38 and discuss how it influenced more modern designs such as the US M9 service pistol, and others.

Nice video, lots of good info. Looking forward to what other pistols you’ll examine in the future. I didn’t know it had a loaded chamber indicator. I’d love to have a steel P38… maybe some day.
(BTW, was it freezing or what? Lookin’ like Rudolph at the beginning of the video ;))
Yeah, it was cold out here today. We lost our little bit of snow we had, but the temp was in the upper 20’s when we shot the video this morning.
Excellent video as usual, Sturm!
I love the P38 and have a post WWII aluminum frame P38 as well as a P1. Both shoot well. Never got one of the older ones but do have a couple P.08 Lugers.
Very descriptive video that does illustrate the P38’s influence of modern gun design. I own a couple P1’s that are wonderful shooters.

Excellent video. ![]()
Fantastic video, and great history and carry-on of the P-38. It seems the P-38/P-1’s are coming back in the market, so I may snatch one up this coming year. Always wanted one when I was a kid.
